World AIDS Day
Every 12 seconds another person contracts HIV. Every 16 seconds another person dies of AIDS.
World AIDS Day is celebrated on December 1 each year around the world. It has become one of the most recognised international health days and a key opportunity to raise awareness, commemorate those who have passed on, and celebrate victories such as increased access to treatment and prevention services.
ANKORS and the Nelson United Church are hosting – World AIDS Day on Wednesday, December 1st/2010. At the Nelson United Church – 602 Silica St. (corner of Josephine and Silica).
The service will be held 7 – 9pm with Reverend Christine Dudley.
A candle light vigil will be held in support and memory of those that have passed.
The evening will include live music featuring Duncan Johnston, Marina Richards, and Amberstaar Pyper.
Food and beverages will be provided,
Music, Thoughts, and Memories will be Shared.
